Custom-made frames
If you have a picture with slightly different dimensions and are having trouble finding a suitable standard-sized frame, no problem. You can quickly and conveniently order a custom-made frame from us.
Glass
Float glass
Float glass may at first appear like normal glass, but in reality, Float glass is even smoother and has slightly better light properties. Therefore, your image will stand out better with Float glass, which gives a better experience of the board.
Float glass is our standard glass in all of our custom-made frames.
Plexiglass, or actually plastic sheeting
Plexiglass is a type of transparent acrylic plastic that you can order to replace glass in your custom-made frame.
Plexiglass is much lighter than glass, and because it is unbreakable, it is perfect for children's rooms or walls where you cannot hang heavy pictures.
Without glass
A frame without glass can be practical when you want to frame something that is protruding that does not fit behind the glass, or for other projects where the design cannot be behind the glass. The frame will then be delivered with a back, but without glass.
Anti-reflective glass
Invisible - or anti-reflective glass is specially treated to reflect significantly less light. The glass is almost invisible and the image on the board will be clearly visible without reflections, which gives a great visual experience. The glass also has 70% UV protection, which means your images will remain fade-free for a long time.
Please note that at certain narrow angles there will be some reflection which may appear green/purple in tone. This can often be corrected by moving the painting slightly, or by aiming the lighting in a slightly different location.
Under non-reflective, or optical, glass, the tones are not distorted at all.

How do I measure?
Buying custom frames from us is easy. Simply provide the dimensions of the picture you want to frame, down to the millimeter, and we'll take care of the rest. Frames are always delivered pre-assembled, with glass, backing, and hanging included.
This is how you enter your measurements:
If the picture you want to frame is 20x30 cm, mark the width as 20cm and the height as 30cm for the frames you want.

Frame dimensions
List width
This measurement refers to the width of the frame strip when viewed from the front. The measurement is given in millimeters.
List depth
This measurement refers to the depth of the frame strip when viewed from the side, i.e. how many millimeters the frame protrudes from the wall.
Finished frame dimensions
The dimensions of the frames determine how big the picture will fit in the frame, in other words the dimensions of the picture. You should also know these dimensions when ordering a custom-made frame. You can easily calculate the total dimensions of the painting, just add the width of the frame strip x 2. For example, if you have a frame with picture dimensions of 40x60 and the width of the frame strip is 1.3 cm, you calculate 40+1.3+1.3=42.6 cm. In the same way, you can calculate the height of the painting.
mount
"That white around there..." is the most common description of a mount.

A mount, framing board, or hole punch (a beloved child has many names) is an excellent addition when you want to emphasize or give space to the work itself. The actual function of the "mount" is to prevent the work from hitting the glass so that it will last a long time.

We cut all of our passports to order, so you can get them either in standard sizes or ordered with your own measurements.
All of the mounts in our selection are pH-neutral and acid-free, so they will not corrode artworks.
You can get a trim that is suitable for a handsome frame in any width you want. It is not worth getting one that is too narrow so that the whole thing does not become too cramped. If the trim is the same width as the frame, the end result may be a little strange.
The "golden section" is made so that the bottom edge is wider than the others. If it is the same width as the other edges, an optical illusion is created and it appears narrower even though it is not. If you want the golden section, indicate whether the mount is vertical or horizontal.
